| On a day when temperatures reached close to 40°C, Team Medscheme’s Nic White pushed himself through the scorching sun in the second race of the PPA Giro del Capo Challenge in Durbanville, Western Cape- clinching all three race jerseys: Powerade King of the Mountains Jersey, Pickfords Points Race Jersey and the Velotex Champions Jersey.
“It was a tough race due to the unbearable heat, but I was thrilled to be first at the summit of Vissershok with team mate Hanco Kachelhoffer right behind me,” said an exhausted and proud White.
Hanco Kachelhoffer, otherwise known as the Red Terrier, took fourth place overall: “It was a grueling climb but I managed to keep up with the breakaway bunch until the end.”
Team Medscheme will again get on their bikes tomorrow when they take part in race three of the PPA Giro del Capo Challenge starting and finishing in Paarl. |
